Tonight is the Premiere Night of CNN Hero of the Year

Tonight at 9 pm (Pacific Standard Time) is the premiere night of the 2009 CNN: An All-Star Tribute in Kodak Theater Hollywood. It will be aired tomorrow after having the acceptance speech last Saturday (November 22 -PST) taped before of 3,000 audience. Efren Peñaflorida Jr. from Philippines got the most vote among other Top 10 CNN Heroes of the Year. He garnered over one million and seventy-five thousand (<1,750,000).

Efren Peñaflorida Jr., a pushcart educator, bagged $125,000 as his prize. Surely, it will go to his community service. For me, not because I am a Filipino but in general, he just deserves the prize. His remarkable heroism could save hundreds and hundreds of unfortunate poor children as an alternative to gang membership. Kudos to him and to the other CNN Top 10 Heroes. More Power!

Computer Touch Screen

Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft after its predecessor Windows Vista. It's just less than three years after Windows Vista came and here now again the latest one -- Computer Touch Screen! When there's an ipod touch screen, cell phone touch, camera touch, and other touch screens then why not with the personal computer? Ahh.. technology! It's great to have one but I guess I will be behind with this. As I have my Windows Vista Version more than a year ago, it's hard for me to understand the features though it's an easy one better than Windows XP, and now there's this better one! And I guess it's just fair because it's only on PC that isn't of a touch screen. Though a laptop can have some of its touch the mouse but the new one (Windows 7) has more than of this. Ooh well..

Anyway, Wikipedia said that Windows 7 was out to the manufacturing company by July 22 this year and three months after (October 22) this year was already out in the market. Okay, have fun with the high-technology gadgets but just use it in a good way. The answer just lies in your hand once you have it. :-)

Want To See Santa? then, Santa-tize First!

With Christmas holiday is on the way, Santa on the malls will then be there as well. In getting ready of the event (Santa photograph), health officials making sure that Santas are already vaccinated or swine flu-free especially if they are to engage in photograph among children and individuals. Now, since the Santa has to do the precautions, they are also asking health department that individuals who turns to them will do the same. Congrats to Manny Pacquiao!

I know it is kind of late for congratulating one of Philippine living hero Manny Pacquiao but I have to. He won over the fight between him and Miguel Cotto(Puerto Rican's boxing star) last November 14, at MGM Grand, Las Vegas. Congratulations Manny! And now he has the seventh (7th ) World Title! Air Filters Has to Be Changed

If you have an air condition, it is advisable that its air filters has to be changed periodically. I believe that any any air filters you have in your house or in your car, you maintain it and I salute you for that. The dirty air filters can cause health problem apparently because of the nasty stuff it created. Thus, will cause asthma and other problem. When Logging-in

When having a business matter or logging-in to a sensitive website or should I say a website which contain your private and financial data like PayPal, e-bank, etc.. be sure to get another window (or browser) not the pre-existing window you have opened and use already. Like for example, if you have already browsed some sites and then you want something on your e-bank (perhaps check some info), please get another window not the pre-existing ones 'coz it's very possible that a cookie can store your log-in info in there or if not, it can be viewed by a third party. I got this info from PayPal long time ago. Just sharing as well as I also remember through this. You already know that putting some private information isn't that safe, so extra-precaution should be applied when doing so. And also Mozilla Firefox so far has a great service in terms of browser. Don't forget also not to put private data in a shared computer, it must be yours or if ever needed, be sure to close any cookies and clear cache after closing your browser. Most importantly, don't store your password as well as don't forget to log-out!

An Example of "Spoofing" or Password Phishing and How to Detect Solution, Beware!

Bad folks are everywhere. Beware of bad peeps in the world wide web surroundings (internet) who is trying to get your personal identification like Social Security Number, bank account number, PIN number, credit card info, birth date, name, telephone number, address, and other private information especially password for identity theft. It will ruin your financial standing as well as your credibility. If you happen to have your password remembered on your personal computer browser, change it at least once a month or do not store your password on your browser to easily get in the website. Even if you have anti-virus protection, it is still possible though not that risky.

I personally received a password phishing message lately on my gmail. Actually there are lots I received about how many millions of pounds they will give because the owner died and they want someone to take care and blah blah.. but this one is much bad because it seems true because I joined with my friend's daughter contest and there are many gmail account created by my bet's co-contestant, I presume that gmail did the cleaning. But ola! it's one of the bunch of phishing attack! I put it in spam folder and reported to Google after it. Below is the message:

Veterans Day!

Today November 11 is the Veterans Day celebration here in America. According to Wikipedia.com (which is for me, the world wide web source for all the history), it mostly observed this day. This is also a Remembrance Day celebration to those outside America who fought against. That was before. This is just a commemoration yet, it is deeply celebrated due to the people(soldiers) who fought and died for what America has now. This is history and would always be in the heart to all Americans. People who live in America are celebrating this. And as what I said, other countries celebrates this day also as Remembrance Day. God bless the Veterans! Thank you for the contribution and for the effort.

So where would you be tomorrow? Would you go shopping? Get-together? Family gathering? Watching movies about the occasion? Orlando, Florida is Great for Vacation Fun

We all know that a place called Florida is a "Sunshine State" so, even if it's cold, yet it isn't much as cold as in there. I presume all places in Florida including Orlando and others. It is great to have an orlando vacations. Ooh well, Orlando is one of the signature places for a vacation. It has Walt Disney Resort which for me is the happiest place on Earth. Sea World also outlet also is one of the attractions where dolphins and sea animals is inside the big aquarium and would entertain you in its best. One of the well-known attractions also is the Universal Studio of where you can have adventure and rides. For sure it will be fun having a vacation especially with the family.

Fort Hood Base Shooting: 12 Killed, 31 Wounded, Gunman Alive

It was just lately, November 5, 2009, the news about a shooting at Fort Hood base happened. It is only circulating in the news world every now and then. It was a bit hilarious since the gunman identified as an army major, Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan. He's a licensed Army psychiatrist and was based in Fort Hood and was about to be deployed when he did the shooting. That happened when the soldiers at the base when only minutes to go that soldiers about to graduate and be deployed to Iraq. The shooting incident killed 12 people, and 31 wounded. It was believed lately that he was one of the dead but it's just recently that officials reported he is alive. You can view more news and updates at: The Next Reporter, CNN, CBS, and others.

Black Friday is Coming Up!

According to Wikipedia, Thanksgiving Day is every 4th Thursday of November every year which is also what I observed. Then it comes Black Friday after that day. Black Friday is commonly known as the shopping day. It isn't a legal holiday but most employees (excluding retail and banking) are busy shopping for Christmas decors and stuffs so it's basically shopping, shopping, and shopping after the Thanksgiving Day. Today is the First Day of 2009 Pacific Standard Time (PST)

Here in United States of America and perhaps on the other parts of the world too, is the first day of Standard Pacific Time (PST). It was yesterday November 1, 2009 is the last day of Daylight Saving Time (DST). Meaning to say, the clock move back one hour beginning today until Pacific Standard Time ends, sometime on Spring going to Summer Time next year.
